File extension sys information

On the windows 9.x and Dos operating systems, the SYS file extension are system files used for saving various data, configuration and functions used by the operating system. Files such as the 10.SYS, CONF.SYS and MSDOS.SYS contain essential information such as device drivers. Although they can be opened and viewed with a text editor they should be modified with caution because incorrect association are the causes of the file extension error and hence it is good to scan your system to prevent, identify and repair SYS file extension association errors.
File extension SYS is widely used on MS-DOS and windows platforms by system files. These files contain executable code for hardware device drivers. The SYS files run in the kernel-mode which is the highest possible privilege on Microsoft windows systems. This means that errors in these files can cause great harm and data loss. If these files are infected with viruses it may be hard to remove. We strongly recommend installation of drivers only from trusted sources like official hardware manufacturer websites or digital media that came with the device.
